Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the doors of our center are closed. We are offering online classes and continue to offer lunch Monday through Friday. Feel free to call us between 8 am and 4 pm with any questions!

Our doors are often open on evenings and weekends for seasonal classes through Mizell and for community meetings. Check our calendar for details.
No. Mizell is an independent non-profit which relies on donations, grants from public and private sources, and other forms of fundraising to provide programs and services. Our Meals on Wheels program which delivers from Whitewater to the North Shore of the Salton Sea receives partial funding from Riverside County. We welcome all people to participate in our activities and programs!

Annual memberships are just $35 per person and provide you with discounts on classes. Some programs, such as legal and financial consultations, are available only to members. Non-members are welcome to participate in classes but will pay a premium per-class fee.

No! We have members from ages 30 to 100. Some of our younger members join to participate in our morning exercise classes, enjoy the live music sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays or to engage with the parents who are also members.
Yes! Our volunteers serve in a variety of capacities from staffing our Front Desk, serving in Café 480, sales clerk in Aunt Betty’s Attic Thrift Shop, at special events and in many other ways.
Our Front Desk may be able to help, depending upon the need. You may also want to check our Business Partner’s list for recommended home healthcare, assistance understanding Medicare/Medicaid, home improvement and legal or financial offices who specialize in working with the elderly. We are not equipped to offer individual care to that degree. People who attend activities at Mizell are for the most part ambulatory and independent. Some members bring a caregiver when they participate, particularly in our balance classes.
Mizell is the largest provider in Riverside County for Meals on Wheels, a home-delivery of meals to home-bound seniors. Click here to learn about eligibility.

Within the Mizell Center we have Café 480 which provides affordable lunches from 11:00 to 12:15 Monday through Friday.
