Senior Advocates of the Desert
May 28, 9:30 am - 1:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 9:30am on Tuesday, repeating indefinitely
Senior Advocates of the Desert was founded so that low-income seniors can make one phone call and be provided the information, assistance, and advocacy they need to navigate through the government benefits application process. Chris O’Hanlon and Dena Bates meets personally one-on-one with our clients and advocate on their behalf to ensure they receive the benefits to which they are entitled. We collaborate with many other agencies in the valley to extend our impact in the senior community. Issues addressed include: Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicare, In Home Supportive Services (IHSS), Veterans Benefits, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Social Security Retirement Benefits, Cal-Fresh – LIHEAP (Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program). Not included: other legal issues or housing. Assessments are 45 minutes. Call our front desk volunteers at (760)323-5689 to make an appointment. This is a FREE service for members.
