Meals on Wheels

Mizell Center is the only Meals on Wheels provider in the Coachella Valley. We prepare, serve, and deliver approximately 600+ meals each weekday to homebound seniors from Whitewater to the Salton Sea, and to regional senior centers in Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indio and Palm Springs.

Homebound meals are delivered by trained Mizell drivers, who are CPR certified and trained in signs of elder abuse. Drivers make referrals for additional services to our outreach team when needed.

We also provide pet food in partnership with the Palm Springs Animal Shelter for pets in need.

Mizell drivers are often the only person a homebound senior sees on a daily basis, making Meals on Wheels much more than a food delivery service. This critical support greatly increases our clients’ ability to age in place, retaining their independence and dignity.

Meals on Wheels is funded 90% by the Riverside County Office on Aging, with Mizell directly funding the balance. We do so with support from individual contributions, grants, and business partners.

Please consider a donation to ensure our Meals on Wheels program has the financial support it needs.
